In his writing,
Riche loved writing
- especially poetry ... creating it, and listening to others'
work ... he co-founded with Chris Mansell a Shoalhaven Poetry
Festival in 2005, and actively encouraged young aspiring writers
to find their voice He also demonstrated his own love of travel,
including to different parts of India - where his life sadly
ended in Delhi. An example of his writing skills may be seen
in his Letters from India about Time
& Boredom... or his thoughts on Buddhism
- stimulated during an earlier trip, by holy places like Varanasi |
In his civic ideas,
... as one
example he cared that his (later life) home town of Nowra should
develop a distinctive character - so he offered the following
online
essay ... on how our town leaders need to open their minds,
to take risks, to accept lateral thinking with design ideas intended
to convey a 'town identity' |
